Sanitation in a New World

You may be wondering what your latest appointment at Golden Wave Studio will look like. Luckily, it doesn't have to be wildly different from our typical time together—cheers to operating out of a single-chair studio.

Sanitation has always been of the utmost importance to me in my work, and I continue to uphold the state-mandated sanitation/disinfection standards that I have been educated and licensed in. So, naturally, there are quite a few practices that have long been in place. In addition to sanitation, I want to share with you a few other policies that aren't going anywhere. Let’s review the list of what you can continue to expect as part of your experience at Golden Wave Studio:

  • All tools, seating, and stations are being actively and thoroughly sanitized between services.

  • Freshly sanitized tools, capes, and towels are used on each client.

  • Floors are mopped nightly.

  • Retail products are routinely sanitized.

  • Any disposable items are brand-new for each client.

  • I wash my hands before, during, and after each service and wear gloves as needed.

  • I will stay home if experiencing symptoms of illness.

  • I only work on one client at a time—no double-booking.

  • A shampoo and full blowdry/style are included with nearly every service.

  • Bottled and canned beverage options are available.

Now, of course, there are a few updates to Golden Wave Studio’s protocol. I am following state-recommended COVID-19 business practices as closely as I feel comfortable. I've listed them out below, so take a peek!

  • We will both wear clean, sanitized masks for the duration of the appointment. If you don't have a mask that loops around your ears, disposable masks are available.

  • I take my temperature each morning before coming into work, and I will take yours before allowing you into the building. I do not record this information, but anyone with a temperature reading above 100.4°F will be rescheduled for their appointment in 14 days’ time.

  • Reusable gloves have been swapped out for single-use, biodegradable gloves.

  • I ask that you come to your appointment alone—no kids, friends, or company at this time.

  • You will wait in your vehicle upon arrival, and I will invite you in once the studio has been fully sanitized (please text me to let me know when you have arrived).

  • Air hugs only, please! Avoid unnecessary physical contact until further notice.

  • Please keep the amount of personal belongings brought with you to a minimum.

  • Please sanitize your hands and phone immediately following check in—hand sanitizer and wash station are provided.

  • Please minimize food and drink consumption while in the studio. Stay comfortable, but be courteous.

  • I encourage you to bring your own beverage, as beverage service is currently limited.

  • Retail products are still for sale, but please allow me to pick them up off the shelf for you. Minimizing the level of contact with high-touch areas is a priority.

  • Reading materials are not currently available. As always, you are more than welcome to bring in your own book/laptop/magazines/e-reading device.

  • All service consultations are currently being done virtually. If you would like to book a color and/or haircut consultation, simply text current photos of your hair and a couple inspiration photos to 858.683.4626. All hair extension consultations begin with my NBR application, which can be found at the homepage of this website.

  • If you or someone you have had contact with has shown any symptoms of illness (even unexpected allergies) within the last 14 days, kindly reschedule your service. Cancellation fees are currently being waived for illness-related cancellations.

That's about it, folks! If you have any questions about what else I'm doing to keep myself and my clients safe in this new environment, don't hesitate to reach out—hair day should never be stressful.

Xoxo,

Ellery
